Carlijn & Mathilde | Losing our sealegs

Today (July 5th) we started a new challenge: only speaking English for the international crew for 72 hours. Talking about 72 hours: 72 hours ago we got seasick again. We went on a day trip of sailing with our Norwegian friend Karl and we felt nauseous and a bit ill again.

The first day quite a few people were seasick. Some were actually really sick and in bed for 23 hours a day, some just barfed and went on with their lives. After a few days on the ocean it got a lot better, but now that we have been in port for such a long time we’re afraid that it will be back. Tuesday evening we’re departing again to go to Stavanger. We are looking forward to it, but we’re scared the seasick is going to get us again. So we’re preparing already, buckets are clean and the edge of the ship is cleared so that we can feed the fish again.

Despite the throwing up we still do have a lot of fun. Like yesterday, we had a hike in the woods to a really beautiful open air theatre. There some people played frisbee and others just enjoyed the view. A lot of crew members also joined us to explore the country.

Sea you next time!
