Hey everyone,
Yesterday wasn’t a normal day, it was JJ’s birthday, he turned 17! Of course on the ship we’re always in for a party. We started the day by waking him up with nice birthday songs by the famous choir of sleepy trainees. And the singing didn’t stop for the whole day, every gathering we had we sang another song. With birthdays you also need a birthday cake and fortunately we have amazing cooks, so Bibi who also really likes to bake, made the most amazing bananacaramelchocolatecrumblecake on request of JJ.
JJ had some really special birthday requests like brushing his teeth on the 30 meter high yard and watching finding nemo (which was unfortunately postponed). We also learned a lot about him in the special edition of the #toilettalk, our newspaper (named after the daily conferences in the boys bathroom) that Mathilde and Merel made, such as his favourite song. That was very useful in the aMEEZINGbar, the little karaoke party we threw after dinner. And because the 72 hour English challenge had finished, the crew could enjoy our nice singalongs to all the Dutch songs. We surely enjoyed it! Luckily today was lazyday so we could sleep in, after our intensive karaoke.
We already look forward to the next birthday party, on the 15th of July when it’s Merel’s birthday!!
